Employer: Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, Inc.

Industry/Job Title:  Non-Profit/Director of Development

What he does: I began my career at Junior Achievement in 2002 as a Program Manager.  For the past five years as JA’s Director of Development, I’ve been responsible for raising all contributed income from corporations, foundations and individuals – more than $1,000,000 each year.  This support allows our organization to empower more than 30,000 Connecticut young people to own their future economic success.

In addition to my responsibilities at JA, I also serve on the steering committee of the New Britain Youth Network, a collaborative of more than 40 youth-serving agencies.   In 2010, I helped launch the city of New Britain’s first-ever dropout prevention program called Graduation Odyssey and I currently serve as co-chair of the city-wide dropout prevention taskforce.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from Fairfield University and a master’s degree in education from Central CT State University.

My favorite thing about HYPE is captaining this year’s HYPE Cup team to victory.  I’m exceptionally proud of my team’s commitment to the community, as we also led the Cup in community service participation.  Congrats “More Cowbell” on winning the 2012 HYPE Cup!!
