Industry/Job Title: Aerospace/Repair Development Engineer

What he does: I am a Repair Development Engineer at P&W.  Just like your car needs oil changes and tune ups, so do jet engines. It is my job to write the repair manuals for jet engine mechanics to use on military engines. My parents work at P&W so I have always been around aerospace and found it fascinating. I had a few internships with my current group at P&W and was eventually offered a full time position. I have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Future Aspirations:
At work, I would like to get into new product development instead of maintenance and repair. I also plan to transition into a leadership and project management role for technical projects within my group. In the Hartford community, I plan to be more engaged with the Hartford Camp Courant Board of Directors. Through my interactions with HYPE I was granted the opportunity to work with this organization and help those less fortunate than myself.

Fun Facts about Kevin: I was a competitive swimmer all through high school and college. Now I have expanded my racing to include running, biking, and triathlons as well. I’ve completed an Olympic distance triathlon, rode multiple century (100 mile) rides, and have run three Ragnar Relays. In 2014 I am signed up for over 15 different races of various types.
