The Connecticut Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce started in 2007 as CABO (the Connecticut Alliance for Business Opportunities.) In 2009 CABO was recognized by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce with the Rising Star Chamber award, and in 2011 even won Chamber of the Year award! In 2014 the chamber moved forward with a new name and new leadership. Thus the Connecticut Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce was born! The chamber strives every day to provide valuable business development opportunities, financial access and educational resources to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) and allied business community in the greater Connecticut area.
On Saturday, August 26th, CTGLC will be hosting their 10th Anniversary Gala at the Riverfront Boathouse from 6:00-10:00pm. Come and vote for your favorite dancers in the "Dancing with the Local Stars" competition and performance from the Arthur Murray Studio. Great food, beer and wine and a silent auction will also highlight the evening. By attending this gala you will also be helping to support the CABO Foundation, which celebrates and empowers courageous young LGBT or Allied leaders in Connecticut who impact their community and school by acting as a catalyst for positive change. This gala will support the foundation as they award two inspiring young individuals with scholarships!
